The Origin of DruidFest

We live in a time when gathering matters.

DruidFest arises from a simple longing: to remember what is real.

In a world that moves quickly and often pulls us away from ourselves, this gathering returns us to what endures—land, sea, and sky. It is a place to step out of the noise and into presence, to reconnect with the rhythms that have always been here.

DruidFest is a creation of Modern Druid, founded by Morgana Brennan, now entering its fifth year in Nyack. Since opening on May 1, 2021, Modern Druid has become a space for ritual, creativity, and community, from intimate gatherings to larger expressions such as Spirit of SoBro, now in its fourth year. DruidFest is the next unfolding of that vision.

Created in relationship with the land and the village, DruidFest is designed with care, low-impact transportation between sites, stewardship of Nyack Beach State Park, and a commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Every element is shaped with intention, honoring both place and people.

At its heart, DruidFest is guided by a set of living themes:

  • Land Stewardship & Ecological Wisdom
  • Arts & Music
  • Storytelling & Oral Tradition
  • Ritual & Reflection
  • Community Resilience
  • Creativity as Cultural Memory

This is not a festival built for consumption, but a gathering shaped through reciprocity. We honor the land that holds us, the artists who share their gifts, and the community that brings it all to life.

DruidFest is relational, not extractive.

It is an invitation to arrive, to remember, and to belong.
We gather not to observe, but to engage.
